With Singapore’s population, of those 65 years and above, projected to triple from 8% in 2000 to 24% in 2030, developing solutions that enhance the independence and improve the quality of life for the elderly is crucial. InnoPal is a Singapore-based startup company specialising in developing innovative and cost effective healthcare and wellness products and services.

Founded by Glen Hinshaw, Intelligent Mobility Pte Ltd (IM) is a local start-up company incorporated in Singapore with products for healthcare and sports applications. IM’s products include custom insoles, 3D foot scanning, and a new generation of wireless foot pressure and heating monitoring insoles.

ERS Industries is an established SME that manufactures electronic equipment racks for use in data centres. Over the last 15 years, it has grown by building on its strength in product design, manufacturing and good customer relationships. Despite its success, it is not resting on its laurels. Increasingly, data centres around the world are looking at ways to improve the efficient use of energy. To meet this emerging need for green data centres, ERS embarked on a journey to re-organise its product design and development process.

G Element develops 3D smart building and city software solutions which provide unified situation awareness to building owners and managers. Started in 2001, this Singapore company first applied interactive 3D graphics technologies in the areas of training, simulation and visualization. In 2003, it shifted its focus from general industry to the smart buildings and cities market. Today, G Element’s 3D building solutions have made in-roads to Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, India and China.

Alphatron Asia specialises in distributing radar components and transmission equipment to the marine, medical, broadcast and satellite industries, and in providing management and control solution for complex networks. In 2012, it was named as one of the Singapore Enterprise 50 award winners.

The Biofactory, a biomedical incubator supported by Singapore Polytechnic, aims to create successful biomedical companies from Singapore-developed technologies. Recently, it has also been recognised as an incubator under the National Research Foundation’s Technology Incubation Scheme (TIS).

The Biofactory’s key objective is to create more product-owners by bringing more Singapore-developed biomedical technologies, spin-offs and start-ups to the market. Of four start-ups established, two have been launched internationally in 2011.

Wintier Technologies is a business and consulting company headquartered in Singapore. Since its inception in 2009, it has built a business networking platform that helps Singapore companies venture and seek business opportunities overseas. Its vast networks now cover the South East Asia, China and the Middle East.
