Find out how Million Century turned to IPI’s innovation advisor to refine its market strategy and venture into new product development to increase new revenue stream.
Million Century sought to move beyond its role as a distributor and become a product owner with its own eco-friendly cleaning formulations. However, the company lacked the in-house expertise to develop new products while simultaneously strengthening its business strategy and financial management.
Without a clear roadmap, translating this ambition into practical steps for product development, market positioning and business growth was a challenge.
IPI Singapore connected Million Century with Innovation Advisor Harish Methil, who worked closely with the company to guide its transition from distributor to product innovator. Grace Wee, Principal Manager at IPI Singapore, facilitated the engagement and ensured strong alignment between the company and the advisor throughout the project.
Methil supported the development of a new eco-friendly cleaning product while also advising the company on broader business strategy and financial management practices. By breaking down goals into manageable steps, he helped the team refine its market positioning, strengthen internal decision-making, and build confidence in pursuing product innovation.
With guidance from IPI Singapore and its Innovation Advisor, Million Century was able to take practical steps towards developing its own products and positioning the business for sustainable growth.
"Harish was the second advisor that was introduced to me and had the 'golden eye' that was able to see through all my challenges and know what help I needed. He is very knowledgeable and has relevant experience and insight into my problem."
"As you embark on a step-by-step approach to problem-solving, you can build your own confidence that your analysis and corrective actions are clearly giving you the progress that you desired, and this is very critical."
Million Century began as a distributor of cleaning chemicals and equipment serving the cleaning supplies sector. Through the Partners for Business Growth (PBG) programme run by the SME Centre Singapore Manufacturing Federation and supported by EnterpriseSG, the company was referred to IPI Singapore to embark on a targeted Innovation Advisory project aimed at refining its market strategy and developing eco-friendly cleaning solutions to strengthen sales and competitiveness.
