Singapore-based Little Green Ranger lends its expertise in sustainable energy solutions to advance worker safety and optimise construction processes.
Since its founding in 2022, Little Green Ranger has grown into a company known for its sustainable energy solutions. The team is passionate about helping companies transition from conventional energy sources to renewable alternatives.
Little Green Ranger first connected with IPI through a recommendation. Founder Kenneth Ong recalled being attracted to the structured support and practical expertise IPI offers. “We were at a crossroads—we were looking for a way to grow sustainably without losing sight of what made us unique. The introduction to IPI came at the right time—they helped us look at our challenges differently and find partners who could truly make a difference,” Ong shared.
Before embarking on collaborative projects, the team streamlined their product and strategies with the help of IPI Innovation Advisor Wong Hong Wai. The process began with Little Green Ranger drafting a product roadmap based on a template provided by IA Hong Wai. From there, IA Hong Wai worked with the team to align the product with market trends and opportunities, as well as establish sales strategies.
Over the course of a year, IA Hong Wai worked closely with Ong and his team to assess Little Green Ranger’s capabilities, explore collaborations and test products against industrial standards.
“Hong Wai was instrumental in helping us crystallise our ideas and develop a clear direction for our business,” said Ong. “His guidance and expertise acted as a form of check and balance for us as we were initially only concerned with pushing products out. He made us sit down and really think through and develop an identity.”
With their new products and identity solidified, Little Green Ranger launched into two fruitful collaborations with the help of IPI.
On one end, as a client, Little Green Ranger worked with Australian SME Calumino to enhance their safety Internet-of-Things (IoT) system for construction sites. The project focused on mitigating heat stress for outdoor workers by integrating real-time environmental monitoring into their automated IOT system.
Through IPI, Little Green Ranger connected with Calumino and explored the potential of its smart thermal sensors. The collaboration enabled the team to automate the measurement of Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WGBT) which measures heat stress under direct sunlight. The system provides hourly updates, rest recommendations and traceable data. With this, Little Green Ranger was able to improve workplace safety and comply with the Ministry of Manpower’s guidelines.
However, the process didn’t just stop at the integration of new technology. The collaboration also provided Little Green Ranger with valuable knowledge from Calumino’s team, allowing the company to improve how they implement and adapt thermal sensors.
“What stood out was how seamlessly we were able to align with Calumino. This project opened doors for us to enter markets we hadn’t even considered before,” reflected Ong.
In parallel, Little Green Ranger played the role of a solution provider for ConcreteAI, a Singapore-based start-up turning construction on its head with IoT-enabled concrete curing systems.
While ConcreteAI was working on its new real-time synchronised concrete curing monitoring system, it faced a key obstacle: ensuring uninterrupted power for their systems in remote construction sites, where access to electricity was limited and often dependent on diesel generators.
With Little Green Ranger’s expertise in mind, IPI facilitated a meeting between the two companies and worked with them throughout the process. Little Green Ranger developed and tested a battery-powered solution that provided continuous 24-hour power while reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
The project highlighted the potential for sustainable innovation in construction. Merging Little Green Ranger’s battery energy storage systems with ConcreteAI’s technology, the partnership delivered both operational efficiency and environmental benefits. For instance, it ensured uninterrupted, real-time concrete curing and monitoring at construction sites for periods of 28 days or longer. And by eliminating the use of diesel, the solution significantly reduced carbon emissions as well as noise pollution.
By integrating Little Green Ranger’s Battery Energy Storage Systems with ConcreteAI’s system, the partnership delivered operational efficiency and environmental benefits. The new solution not only lowered carbon emissions but also expanded ConcreteAI’s ability to serve remote clients effectively.
“Working as a solver gave us a new perspective, especially in terms of our mindset and approach. Our role shifted from identifying a need to actively developing a solution that would fit the client’s requirements. This focus has and will always be how we align our product and service with the client’s challenges and objectives, which requires more in-depth problem-solving and technical integration,” Ong said.
In both partnerships, IPI played an indispensable role in bridging gaps, providing Little Green Ranger with connections and expertise that accelerated progress.
“Our role was to facilitate connections that aligned with Little Green Ranger’s goals,” said Eric Woo, Principal Manager, Innovation and Technology, IPI. “With Calumino, we helped identify a technology partner whose expertise complemented their vision for safety systems. For the ConcreteAI collaboration, on the other hand, we worked to ensure that Little Green Ranger’s energy solutions could address specific challenges in a practical and sustainable manner.”
With the help of IPI’s extensive, collaborative network, Little Green Ranger has positioned itself as a company ready to address sustainability challenges across diverse sectors, whether it’s advancing worker safety or optimising construction processes, where they drive meaningful change through strategic partnerships.
“Whether we are being a client or acting as a problem-solver, the goal remains the same: as long as I continue to create value to my clients, the benefits will be inextricably intertwining,” Ong said.

Little Green Ranger was at a pivotal stage in its growth, seeking to expand sustainably while maintaining its unique identity in the competitive sustainable energy sector.
The company faced the challenge of scaling its business and product offerings without compromising its core values or losing sight of its mission to enable the transition to renewable energy. In the construction industry, worker safety and operational efficiency are critical concerns, especially in environments exposed to extreme weather and remote locations. Little Green Ranger identified the need to enhance safety for outdoor workers, particularly in mitigating heat stress, and to optimise construction processes through innovative energy solutions. However, the company needed to align its products with evolving market trends and regulatory requirements, such as compliance with the Ministry of Manpower’s guidelines on workplace safety.
Additionally, Little Green Ranger aspired to broaden its market reach and develop new applications for its energy solutions, Little Green Ranger required structured guidance and access to suitable technology partners. The company sought support to translate its ideas into practical solutions while accelerating product development through strategic collaborations.
IPI Singapore facilitated Little Green Ranger’s journey by providing structured advisory support and connecting the company with strategic partners to drive innovation and sustainable growth.
IPI’s Innovation Advisor, Wong Hong Wai, worked closely with Little Green Ranger to develop a comprehensive product roadmap, align offerings with market opportunities, and establish effective sales strategies. This hands-on guidance enabled the team to assess its capabilities, crystallise its business direction and identity, and ensuring its solutions met industry demands and regulatory standards.
Leveraging IPI’s extensive network, Little Green Ranger was introduced to Australian SME Calumino, enabling a collaboration that enhanced its safety Internet-of-Things (IoT) system for construction sites. By integrating Calumino’s smart thermal sensors, the solution enabled automated, real-time environmental monitoring to mitigate heat stress for outdoor workers. The system provides hourly updates, rest recommendations, and traceable data to support workplace safety and compliance with Ministry of Manpower guidelines.
IPI also facilitated a partnership between Little Green Ranger and ConcreteAI, a Singapore-based start-up developing IoT-enabled concrete curing systems. Little Green Ranger developed and tested a battery-powered energy storage solution capable of delivering continuous 24-hour power for ConcreteAI’s monitoring systems at remote construction sites. This innovation reduced reliance on diesel generators, lowered carbon emissions, and ensured uninterrupted real-time monitoring for an extended construction period, demonstrating the impact of sustainable energy solutions.
Through these collaborations and advisory support, Little Green Ranger was able to strengthen its product strategy, develop new applications for its energy solutions, and expand its capabilities within the built environment sector.
